Dubrovnik, Pearl of the Adriatic, Part 2
Continued from part 1. Dubrovnik, Croatia (Tuesday, 6/15/2010). This post has many more photos than usual because of our wall trek—just keep reading.
Our breakfast & lovely view.
It was sooo good! How good? See below :)
Today, my dad & I decided to walk along the wall the surrounds the entire old town of Dubrovnik. It was a tad hot (try to go before 10am if you can), but the views were amazing!!!
Velika Onofrijeva fontana (Big Onofrio’s fountain)
In the distance, Trvđava Lovrijenac (Fort Lovrijenac)
Crkva Sv. Ignacija (back of St. Ignatius Church)
Grape vines!
Sadly for the local kids school was not out until Friday.
Small hidden cafe & swimming spot
Crkva Sv. Ignacija (front of St. Ignatius Church)
Blessing the ships as they pass by
INSCRIPTION: Thanks to God, Our Great Benefactor
We ate lunch at Pizzeria Baracuda. Two pizzas: Mjesana i Napolitana
Serbian Orthodox Church & Museum of Icons
Yes, I indulged again!
Their little open market.
Espresso @ None Nina Cafe.
Tata & I went to check out the public beach on the south east side of town.
The cable car that normal takes eager Dubrovnik visitors to the top of the mountain for gorgeous view was being tested before the big tourist season rush.
BOY: “Really… you’re gonna play thaaat card.”
Couldn’t shake Twilight, even in Europe!
We stopped at cafe Talir for refreshments & a time to watch a World Cup match.
Try to stand on the stone for more than 1 second. Try it! (see the stain on the wall)
Our scrumptious sandwich dinner.
I used the microwave light as my light upstairs, because the other one was to bright & kept my parents up. Hooray, for unintended dual purpose!
It was good. And there was evening & morning the 2nd day.
Stay tuned for the Wednesday rundown (let’s see how fast I can bust that one out). Remember you can sneak peak into the Flickr photoset here.
