Dubrovnik, Pearl of the Adriatic, Part 3
Continued from part 2. Dubrovnik, Croatia (Wednesday, 6/16/2010).
Is that Hook?
Using my zoom lens to spy on what our new Ohio friends were reading. They were on a Royal Caribbean Mediterranean cruise which had stopped for a day in Dubrovnik after visiting several Italian coastal cities.
Wanting to eat next to the sea, we ventured into Caffe Bar Komarda & indulged in grilled tuna steak.
Dominikanski samostan-muzej (Dominican Monastery-Museum)
I love how this grandfather was matching his pink granddaughter & stroller.
The opera on the city streets of Dubrovnik performed by lovely birds: Carreras, Domingo, i Pavaroti.
Dolce Vita for sladoled od šumskog voća i chocolate orange.
While my mom waited at the None Nina Cafe, my dad & I went exploring in the old town, this time closer to the sea.
Crkva Sv. Ignacija (St. Ignatius Church)
That little cafe & swimming spot that we saw from up on the wall on Tuesday.
What a World Cup upset! The Swiss beat Spain 1:0. The Spanish tourists flipped out.
KORN is crap!
Soaking up the cool sea breeze & last hours of daylight, we settled down to eat pizza at restaurant Dubravka which is my mother’s name, but sadly we didn’t get any discount.
Our meal was accompanied by the bantering of a fairly loud British couple seated next to us. I thoroughly enjoyed their wicked cool accent.
This local Dubrovnik couple zoomed to the wall, parked, & basked in the city’s beauty (and their sweet mobile rides).
Funghi pizza. Look at the ingredients. Look at that crust!!! Mmmm.
Gurmanska - gljive, šunka, špek, feferon, & sour cream.
Not quite wanting to retire for the day, we turned our city bus ride home into a mini-tour of Babin Kuk and Gruž (a busy port of Dubrovnik, most cruise ships dock here).
Stay tuned for our last full day (Thursday) in Dubrovnik & the beautiful beach my dad & I found.
