SXSW Hipster Bingo & Shoes

I was in Austin during the SXSW Interactive, Film, & Music festival during Spring Break. Check out my photos here. The festival necessarily meant an influx of true hipsters and those who might not be but definitely decided to dress the part. Rounding every corner around downtown Austin, one could easily spot them.

Front Gate Tickets figured why not make these hipster sightings into a little game. It can still be played online (iPhone optimized site) here.

I never got BINGO, but thank you Austinites & those who traveled in for getting me close.

On my last full day, I suddenly realized I could capture a little bit of the hipster spirit by shooting the hipster’s soul sole. Here are several (notice the stilts):

Home Slice It!

We ate at Home Slice on Sunday, and I don’t know of a time that this place is not packed. Everyone who comes to Home Slice is greeted with a joyous hexagonal “Hi!” If there is any wait, don’t just loiter around the front. Instead, make the short trek out to the back and relax on some benches & chairs while longingly viewing other ravenous customer’s pizzas. Thirsty, order your drinks while your back there as well.
