39/365: Surprise small group candlelight & worship night. Loved it! Praise God!

February 8, 2011.

This Tuesday’s small group (Ecclesia bible study group led by Scott & Hannah Key) was a small night of prayer, worship, and reflection. Out of the norm, but necessary.

Calming. Thanks be to God!

23/365: The ER Stretcher, Mama!

23/365: The ER Stretcher

Sunday evening after a delicious fajita lunch & nap, we packed up for church to welcome Croatian missionaries & sweet friends Mladen & Dragica Jovanovic. As my dad & I carried things out to the car and Heidi dressed Sammy, mama went out to the car to wait. Next thing we heard was a crash in the garage & mama letting out a blood curdling scream. My mom had slipped on the uneven garage-to-driveway lip, took a nasty fall head first, cut her head, & was scraped & bruised up pretty badly. Thankfully we live less than a mile from a hospital and the ER.

We (dad, mom, & I) were released 5 hours later, grateful to God for the optimistic prognosis. My mom had suffered a very low-grade concussion from the fall & required 5 staples for one of her lacerations. NO bones broken, NO eye damage, & NO teeth damage. Praise our merciful & healer God!!!

Thank you for praying, calling, facebook messages, txting, making food, visiting, & for your continued prayers.

[Update: 1/30/2011] My mom’s shoulder & arm are still hurting from the tetanus shot. Additionally, the knee she landed on is still tender.
