If you are on a Mac,
Open Terminal
Copy and paste this: “telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl”
You are now watching Star Wars

(It works on Windows too, if I’m not mistaken)

THIS IS CRAZY!

I love watching TELNET text based movies :P

    Dear Tumblr!

    oatmeal:

If you’re going to go down, you might as well blame it on an imaginary animal like Twitter did with their infamous Fail Whale. I’ve taken the liberty of creating this animal for you:

    Please use it.

    Please oh please.

Geeky Friday: 124976.8 Terrabyte (TB) Hard Drive?
Obviously, the photograph is incorrect in claiming that this older pc has an 124,976TB hard drive, but when hard drive manufacturers say they are selling 160GB hard drives one would expect to be able to use the full 160GB. Sadly, this is incorrect.

Most manufactors define 1 GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes (G, Giga is 1000^3); on the other hand, computers function on base 2 (instead of base 10) and calculate the same hard drive as 1,073,741,824 bytes (Gi, Gibi is 1024^3).
Expect a 500GB external hard drive to only store ~465GiB. Why won’t a company just step up and do it right?!?
